Chemical loading arms can be operated directly from ground level without need for loading platforms. When equipped with a special horizontal balancer the arm can be conveniently handled by one operator.
In cases where low density liquids (such as butane and propane) and toxic or explosive vapours are handled, ‘closed loop’ product transfer is necessary. For this application, two bottom loading arms are used. This prevents product escaping into the atmosphere and offers the best possible operator safety and minimises environmental pollution.
The AKTEK 900 Bottom Loading Arm is designed with the operator in mind. From its fully sealed compression spring designed to perfectly balance the arm for easy manoeuvrability to the weather resistant durability of the powder coated to its engineered low value cost, this arm is the ideal solution for many bottom liquid loading requirements including bottom loading skids, bottom loading gantries and top to bottom loading conversions.
The AKTEK dry line loading arm is designed for heavy duty, multi-compartment tanker filling operations under the toughest of conditions.
The loading arms may be mounted on close centres to maximise the number of products serving a single sided loading bay. They are also light and easy to handle, enabling them to be turned through 360o for use on double sided loading gantries.
The compact pantograph design provides both easy handling and flexibility of reach. The secondary arm fully rotates in the horizontal plane enabling at least three compartments of a multi-compartment tanker to be filled without re-spotting the vehicle. The loading arm can be fitted with safety interlocks to provide simultaneous open fill loading.
AKTEK are able to supply a varity of different heated loading arms such as the Bitumen loading arm pictured here. This arm is trace heated with hot oil, however a Varity of different heating options are available.
This arm also features a duel stand post so that a faulty arm can be removed for maintenance and the replacement arm installed.
Other features/options include pneumatic press down, and high level shut off.
Swivel joints are critical components in metal loading arms because of the high bending and axial load combination AKTEK swivel joints are developed to withstand these loads without any leakage.
Due to the specific design, they will show an excellent performance throughout many years, requiring hardly any maintenance. AKTEK swivel joints are available in a wide variety of materials, and hence are suited for the widest possible range of different products. Special features include purging (cryogenic applications), PTFE lining (corrosive products) and multiple seal set/purging (toxic products). Applications are not limited to loading arms and may be used for a wide variety of flexible piping connections.
